EMT Refresher Course
The EMT Refresher course is designed for current EMT-B cardholders who need to complete 24 hours of continuing education and sit for the competency-based written and skills certification examination. A  refresher module for EMT-B cardholders who need all or only a partial EMT refresher course is available to review the most up-to-date information.

Porterville College Psych Tech Applications
The Health Careers Department is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2014 PT cohort. The deadline to file is March 31. Applications can be handed in at the Health Careers Office in HC 2071. For more information, see the brochure/application. A summer section of lifespan  development will be held from July 28th through August 14th for students who still need to complete this course. Check the Porterville College website for summer enrollment information.

Job, Entrepreneur and Career Center Launched
Porterville College's CTE department launched its new  Job, Entrepreneur and Career Center. A schedule of workshops has been posted to the center's website, giving current or former psych tech, EMT and RN students an opportunity to work on their "soft skills," which are crucial to gaining employment. Porterville College's Health Careers Division serves to support the overall mission of the college. With students as our focus, Health Careers faculty and staff strive to provide world-class health education through a variety of discipline-specific programs, which include registered and vocational nursing, psychiatric technology, and emergency medical technology. Each of our programs are designed and taught utilizing strategies and methodologies which encompass the learning needs of a very diverse student population. All healthcare programs strive to prepare culturally competent, ethical, and caring healthcare professionals for service within our community. Faculty seeks to create an educational atmosphere of mutual respect, support, and collaboration, which fosters and promotes student learning and achievement and eliminate personal barriers to success.
